Deep dive
soundings shows:
- Observed radiosonde profiles from Camborne, Castor Bay, Lerwick, Herstmonceux, Watnall (00Z / 12Z).
- Model-forecast soundings at arbitrary grid points (ECMWF / UKV / ICON).
- Parcel paths: surface-based, mixed-layer, most-unstable, each overlaying CAPE/CIN shaded.
- Indices panel: CAPE, CIN, LI, SI, KI, TT, LCL, LFC, EL, PWAT, freezing level.
On plume days, compare observed 12Z Camborne to 12Z model forecast — divergence in mid-level lapse rates is a strong 'nowcast your forecast' signal.
